Andrea Procter wins the Atlantic Book Award for Scholarly Writing!

At a virtual Gala on May 13th, Andrea Procter (A Long Journey: Residential Schools in Labrador and Newfoundland) was awarded the 2021 Atlantic Book Award for Scholarly Writing, presented each year to the author of a published book determined to have had (or likely to have) a significant literary, social and academic impact in the areas of the social sciences and humanities.

This announcement adds another accolade for A Long Journey, which was recently awarded the 2021 Peter Cashin Prize and was shortlisted for the 2021 BMO Winterset Award.

Congratulations to Andrea, and to shortlisted authors Margaret Conrad (At the Ocean’s Edge: A History of Nova Scotia to Confederation) and Alan MacEachern (The Miramichi Fire: A History).
