Cecilia Benoit was born and raised in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Dr. Benoit holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and is currently Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Victoria, British Columbia. Her work has appeared in Current Research on Occupations and Professions, Sociology of Health and Illness, Canadian Journal of Sociology, and Canadian Review of Sociology and Anthropology.
