Sponsored by Marquis, the Atlantic Book Award for Scholarly Writing is awarded to a published book which has had (or likely to have) a significant literary, social, and academic impact in the areas of the social sciences and humanities.
Anne Budgell and James Hiller are both shortlisted for the Heritage and History Book Award for We All Expected to Die and Robert Bond respectively. The Heritage and History Book Award represents outstanding works of non-fiction that enrich the general public's knowledge of Newfoundland and Labrador's history.
